For the 2007-08 basketball season, teams have the opportunity to use a 35-second shot clock, but dealing with one of those would literally be a waste of time for the Forest Lake boys program.

The winter break didn’t mean the Forest Lake wrestling team was taking it easy, as the boys competed in both the Simley Quadrangular, on Dec. 22, and the Rumble on the Red tournament in Fargo, ND.

Welcome to 2008. A new year brings those New Year’s resolutions and the promise of a new start.

Replacing an old calendar gives everyone hope that the next 12 months will be 110 percent better than the last, so the Forest Lake Times sports “department” (table for one, sir?) will gladly play along.

The Ranger alpine ski teams kicked off their season on Friday, Dec. 21 at the Wild Mountain Invitational. With 28 boys teams and 25 girls teams competing, this is the second biggest high school ski race in Minnesota.

Boys basketball team pancake breakfast at Applebee's, Jan. 19

The Forest Lake High School boys basketball team will host a pancake breakfast fundraiser at the Forest Lake Applebee’s on Saturday, Jan. 19, from 8 – 10 a.m. The cost $5 per ticket.
