If the Forest Lake football team wanted to back up their off-season
optimism with on-field results, it had to start on Friday night. The
close loss at Cretin-Derham Hall Aug. 29 was a freebie, but for fans to
buy into the notion of a breakthrough season, a home-opener win was a
must. And win they did. The Rangers took the first step towards a turnaround season with a 32-22 victory over Bloomington Kennedy.
