The way it stands right now, the pivotal game for the Forest Lake baseball season was one that left head coach Brian Raabe red with frustration, as his team bumbled and fumbled away a 4-0 loss to Mounds View.

Softball team wins 2 by combined 15-5 score
After the Forest Lake softball team ended Duluth Central’s dreams of advancing to the state tournament, the Rangers followed up with their second game on Saturday, May 24, with a 8-3 victory over Grand Rapids.
GRAND OLD DAY: Helping the Forest Lake softball team near its goal of reaching the state tourney, Kathy Crudo drilled a grand slam against Grand Rapids to secure the 8-3 win.

Thanks to a comfy 6-1 win over Chisago Lakes in the Section 7AA quarterfinals, the Forest Lake tennis team moved on to face Grand Rapids on Tuesday morning in the semis, with the hope of playing all the way to the state tournament.
WIN AND MOVE ON: The Forest Lake tennis team had little trouble with Chisago Lakes in the quarterfinals of Section 7AA, where Sammy Steiner and company went 6-1.

Post SEC meet, sections now underway
Like every other sport this spring, the Forest Lake girls track and field team had to deal with its share of poor weather, which would adversely affect everyone’s performance.
LUCKY NUMBER 7: At last week’s Suburban East Conference meet, Chelsie Sobieck cleared 4-10 in the high jump, which put her in seventh place.

Sportsmen’s Club pistol league
If you missed the spring Pistol League at the Forest Lake Sportsmen’s Club, don’t miss the eight-week summer edition. Beginning Tuesday, June 10, from 3 p.m. to sunset, the league fee is $68. Open to the public, all types of pistols and sights are allowed; NRA certified pistol instructor/range officer will officiate. Any questions, contact Eric Marleau at 651-462-4587.
There will also be an open shooting day, this Tuesday, June 3.
