Rangers split with Suburban East foe
It took some time and effort, but on Monday, May 5, the Forest Lake girls golf team celebrated Cinco de Mayo at Forest Hills Golf Club by finally defeating Woodbury.

STEPPING UP: With the help of Emily Wisclicnus’ nine-hole round of 44, the Forest Lake girls golf team finally scratched an annoying itch on Monday by beating conference rival Woodbury.

A comfortable win sure makes for a smoother ride on a long road trip, and after the Forest Lake boys track and field team took first place at the Rochester Mayo Invitational, they were able to coast back home and prepare for Tuesday’s True Team in White Bear Lake.
HURTLING INTO MAY: With the Rochester Mayo Invite behind the Forest Lake boys track and field team, the competition begins to get serious for Dillan Edelen (who took third in the 110-meter high hurdles) and the Rangers.

At this point of the softball season it appears Park of Cottage Grove deserves its high ranking, while Woodbury should find itself outside of the top 10. And after knocking off the Royals for the second straight time this spring, a program that needs to be recognized is Forest Lake.
Maybe.
KRYSTAL KLEAR: Many players made an impact in the Rangers 8-4 win over Woodbury, and Krytal Plouff was one of them, with two hits and two RBI.

UP AND OVER: The girl pole vaulters have improved by leaps and bounds for the Rangers, which was proven by Taylor Brett’s mark of nine feet at the Hamline Relays.

Now that the regular season is taken care of, the Forest Lake synchronized swimming team turns its attention on sections (May 16-17).
TEAM SPIRIT: At last Thursday’s synchronized swimming meet against Osseo, Laura Oberg-Hauser (left) and Heidi Merrier cheered on the other competitors. Forest Lake would win, 35-14.
