Anthony Niemczyk

Anthony “Tony” Niemczyk, 89, Hugo, died Tuesday, May 27, 2008.

A Mass of Christian Burial was Monday, June 2 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Hugo, with interment at St. John the Baptist Church Cemetery, Hugo.

He is survived by his wife, Geneva “Neva” Niemczyk; children, Michael (Rene) of Janesville; Joseph (Sandra) of Hugo; Joanne (Christopher Ceman) Niemczyk of Phillipsburg, KS; Andrew (Karen) of Beloit, KS; Christine (Tom) Hagen of Linwood Township; and Vincent (Peggy-Sue) of Hugo; 16 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Katherine; brothers, Lawrence, John and Richard; and sisters, Martha and Bernice.

 
Corey R. Ridge

Corey R. Ridge, 36, Hugo, died Sunday, May 25, 2008.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 30, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m., Thursday at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake.

Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Forest Lake.

He is survived by his parents, Beverly (Doug) Redfield, Robert (Barb) Ridge; sister Jennifer (James) Janssen; step-sister Melissa Redfield; nephew and niece, Tony and Abby; aunts and uncles, Susan Hugger, Bobbie Corwin, Jerry (Marie) Corwin; aunt and godmother Mary (Bob)Welsch; uncle and godfather Ron Ridge; grandparents, Jennie Corwin, Phil and (best friend) Granny Lil Ridge.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Don Corwin.

Memorials are preferred to the family.

 
Francis J. Jankowski

Francis J. “Frank” Jankowski, 77, Linwood Township, died Friday, May 23, 2008.

A memorial service was Wednesday, May 28, at Crossroads Covenant Church, 17445 Notre Dame St., Forest Lake (Columbus) Interment was at Little Falls Lutheran Church Cemetery, Amery, WI.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Beverly; children, Carla (Jim) Holm, Michael (Julie), James (Gail), Daniel (Mari), Joel (Cari); mother, Lillian; grandchildren, Nathaniel, Alyssa (Joe), Milena, Andy, Eric, Jeffrey, Paul, Mark, Jacob, David, Matthew, Krystal, Jonathan, Olivia, Hannah, Stephen, Anastasia; great-grandson, Hayden; brother, Robert (Roberta); and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Francis.

Memorials are preferred to the Tapestries of Life Orphanage.

 
Ruth A. Erickson

Ruth A. “Ruthie” Erickson, 69, Forest Lake, formerly of Wyoming, died Friday, May 23, 2008.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 29, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 5879 Wyoming Trail, Wyoming with visitation 4-7 p.m., Wednesday, May 28 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake and one hour prior to service at church. Interment will be at Scandinavian Cemetery, Forest Lake.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Roger; daughters, Beverly (John) Saxe, Karin (Scott) Nelson; grandchildren, Kyle, Shawn, Rachel, Dana; siblings, Myrtle (Donovan) Larson, Warren (Dorothy) Peterson; brother-in-law, Chic Ewald; sister-in-law, Lorine Peterson; nieces and nephews; many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one son, Keith; parents Edward and Edna Peterson; siblings, Arlene Zang, Allan, Lois Ewald, Roland (Helen).

 
Wilbur Hoyt

Wilbur Hoyt, 68, Wahkon, formerly of Forest Lake, died Sunday, May 18, 2008 in Onamia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 22 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Wahkon, with Father David Gallus,  officiating. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Wahkon; sons, Bill (Debbie) Hoyt, Wyoming, Pat (Cara) Hoyt, Coon Rapids; daughter, Shelly (Don) Droppo, Hudson, WI; brothers, Don “Pete” (Carol) Hoyt, Isle, Gary Hoyt, Mendota; sisters, Norma Rathbun, Lake Elmo, Ramona Lage, Cloquet, and LuAnn Hyde, South St. Paul; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Irene Hoyt; brother, LeVern “Scout” Hoyt; sisters, Pat Klenk and Sandy Rosse.

 
John B. Rachie

John B. Rachie, 70, Forest Lake, died Monday, May 12, 2008 from an atypical form of Parkinson’s Disease.

A funeral service was Friday, May 16 at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake. Interment was at Lakewood Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Marlene Marie; sons, Paul (Catherine Thimmesh) Rachie and David (Kimberly) Rachie; five grandchildren; and one sister, Beth.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyrus and Helen Rachie; and one sister, Janice.

Memorials are preferred.

 
John Rydl

John Rydl, 85, Forest Lake, died Friday, May 16, 2008.

A celebration service was Tuesday, May 20 at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake. Interment will full military honors will take place at 12:45 p.m., Friday, June 6 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. He is a veteran of World War II where he was decorated with two Purple Heart medals.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Caroline; daughters, Betti (Jon) Schmidt, Beverly (Ken) McDermott and Barbara (Matthew) Curtis; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Alice Rydl, Bess Huffman and Emma (Jack) Tosney.

He was preceded in death by siblings Mary Rydl, Frank Rydl and Ernest Rydl.

 
Lyn G. Ruetten

Lyn G. Ruetten, 57, Blaine, a former industrial technology teacher at Forest Lake High School, died Friday, May 16, 2008, from pulmonary fibrosis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 23 at The Church of St. Paul, 1740 Bunker Lake Blvd. NE, Ham Lake. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, May 22 at Kozlak-Radulovich Chapel, 107th Ave NE and TH-65, Blaine. I

nterment will be at St. Columbkille Cemetery, Black River Falls, WI.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; children Leah and Matthew Ruetten; mother Catherine Ruetten; brother Jay (Dianne) Ruetten; sister Mona Griffith; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Memorials are preferred to the family.
