Trudy Kline Propps, 62, formerly of Forest Lake, and Jerry Propps, 59, both of Stillwater, died on Friday, Dec. 11, 2009. Trudy is a former employee at Walmart in Forest Lake and Gaughan Companies in Forest Lake as an apartment complex manager. Jerry is a retired accountant and former deputy sheriff in Kentucky.
A memorial service will be at 5 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 17 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
They are survived by Trudy’s children, Beth (Dave) Riopel, Bill (Tanya) Kline and Matt (Melissa) Kline; grandchildren, Blake Delling, Kylie Kline, Zach Berglund, Gilbert Soto, Isiah Soto and Andrew Soto; sisters, Peggy Milam, Betsy (Dave) Brucker and Gussie Bouldin; and Jerry’s sisters, Debbie (Phillip) Pahl, Wendy Casto and Nancy (John) Smith.
Trudy Propps was preceded in death by her parents, William and Margaret (Barnum) Bouldin; one brother-in-law, Charlie Milam.
Memorials are preferred to the family.

Allen James (Bud) VanElsberg, 67, Danbury, WI, formerly of Forest Lake, died Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 4-7 p.m., Friday Dec. 18 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake.
He is survived by his wife, Roselyn; sisters Mardy (Bob) and Vonnie (Tom); son Tom (Becky) and daughter Vicki; step children Jody, Sheila, Troy and Wendy; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father Lloyd; mother Iris; and one brother, Gary (Butch) VanElsberg.

Rodney J. Wilson, 77, Forest Lake, died Monday, Dec. 7, 2009 at Birchwood Health Care Center, Forest Lake. He served in the United States Coast Guard.
A graveside service will take place at Walkerville Cemetery, Whitehall, IL, at a later time.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; and his parents.

Sgt. 1st Class Robert H. Crawford, Sr., (retired), 71, Linwood Township, died Monday, Nov. 30, 2009. He was a 28-year member of the Minnesota National Guard.
A celebration of his life will take place at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 12, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 5879 Wyoming Trail, Wyoming. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Linwood Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife Pat; children, Lisa (Russ) Myers, Robert H. Jr., Chuck (special friend Naomi), Laura (Jeff) Egge, Greg, and Tracy (Jeff) Twa; nine grandchildren; brothers, David (Shirley), Tom (Toni), Mark, Mike (Fran) and Ronald (Cindy) Franzen; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ebor T. and Janet E. Franzen; one stepbrother, David Franzen; and one great-grandson Hunter Lynch.

David J. Schak, 68, Forest Lake, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009 after a seven-month battle with cancer.
A gathering of family and friends and a time for sharing was Monday, Dec. 7 at Mattson Funeral Home, Forest Lake.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Ken (Nancy), Larry (Denise) and Christine (Ed); grandchildren, Matthew (Tara), Michael and Michel; brother-in-law Ken (Barb) Kringle; many nieces and nephews; special friend Norm Coen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, James; two sisters, Donna Kringle and Patricia Pluff.

Sylvia C. (Houle) Smith, 90, Eagan, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2009 at her home.
A memorial service took place on Monday, Nov. 30 at the Minnesota Cremation Center, Brooklyn Center.
She is survived by her children, DeeAnn Roeske, Charles (Carol) Smith, Lance Smith and Greg Smith: grandchildren Jody (Rick) Boyum, Shiela Smith, Troy Stanton, Aleshia (John) Lieverman, ChrisAnn Roeske, Regina Riefke, Craig Smith, Shelly (Paul) Scherven, Brian Smith and Katie Smith; 11 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Regina Houle; her husband, Charles Smith; one brother Ted (Mamie) Houle; and one nephew, Phillip Houle.

Tom P. Stanchfield, 85, Stacy and Minneapolis, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009. He was a U.S. Army veteran from World War II.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, Dec. 4 at St. Bridget of Sweden Catholic Church, Lindstrom, with interment at St. Anthony’s Catholic Cemetery, Watkins, MN.
He is survived by his children, John and Kiki; grandchildren; other family members and friends.

Howard R. “Swede” Swenson, 78, Forest Lake, died from cancer on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Saturday, Dec. 5 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Forest Lake, with interment at Calvary Cemetery, Forest Lake.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Frances; children, Randall (Mary), Michelle (Chuck) Drury, Deborah (Curt) Moen, Susan (Daniel) Haakenson, Mark (Rose), David (Abby) and Tom; 23 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one sister, Gwen Geske.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Abbie Pearl; and one granddaughter, Kaitlyn.
