Gordon W. Erickson

Gordon W. Erickson, 70, Wyoming, died Saturday, April 24, 2010.

A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m., Thursday, April 29 at Sunnyside Lutheran Church, 6623  NE 227th Ave. NE, Stacy (Linwood). Interment will be at Linwood Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife, Janice; two sons, Jeff of Dunedin, FL and Jamie (Tonya) of Cambridge; seven grandchildren; two great- granddaughters’ and one sister, Arlene Erickson.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Jeans.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and may be sent in care of Roberts Family Funeral Home, 555 SW Centennial Lane, Forest Lake, MN 55025.

 
Georganne Fay Flaherty

Georganne Fay Flaherty, 67, Lindstrom, formerly of Forest Lake, died Monday, April 26, 2010.

The family will greet friends from 1-4 p.m., Saturday, May 1 at American Legion Post 225, 355 W. Broadway Ave., Forest Lake.  There will be a time to share memories beginning at 3 p.m.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Mike; children, Dean (Cyndi), Jeffery (Vicki), Maureen (Tom Fogel), Michael (Lesley), Robert and Susan Flaherty; grandchildren, Joshua, Jessica, Kyle, Lauryn, Connor, Karina, Devan and Mollie; siblings, Diane (John) Fossum, Kathleen (Doug) Schmitt, Lynda Katers, Daniel and Stephen Fay; special niece, Debra Katers, and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Lorraine Fay; sisters, Patricia Allen and Deborah Jean; brothers, Jimmy and Tommy; and by special brother-in-law, Kevin Katers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family through Mattson Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, MN 55025.

 
Norman O. Tetrault

Norman O. Tetrault, 85, Columbus, died at his home on Sunday, April 18, 2010.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 7 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 1250 South Shore Drive, Forest Lake.

Family visitation will take place from 4-7 p.m., Friday, April 30 with a prayer service to follow the visitation at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake.

Interment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Forest Lake.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rita Tetrault; children Daniel (Avis), Denise (Rolland) Ostendorf, Raymond (Sally), Phillip (Lori), Edward, David, Leo (Bonnie), Paul, Angela (Derek) Graziosi; 24 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many other family members and friends.

Memorials are preferred to St. Peter’s Elementary School in Forest Lake and may be sent in care of Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, MN 55025.

 
Gordon C. "Bud" Johnson

Gordon C. “Bud” Johnson, age 80, of North Oaks.

Bud was born November 18, 1929 in St. Paul, Minnesota and was raised on the Eastside.  He died April 14, 2010 at his home following a brave battle with heart disease.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Yvonne (nee Nuebel) Johnson; and their four loving and precious daughters, Jean, Janet, Julie Ann, Kristy Jo; and their husbands, Kevin and Jean Lindstrand and their children, Kristin Marie (Travis) Nelson, Kathryn Jean, Erik; Dave and Janet Holcombe; Mike and Julie Ann Thoemke and their children, Ethan, Bryce, Nadine; Robert and Kristy Jo Knobloch and their children, Jack and Tony; sister, Delores (Walt) Bjoraker; brother-in-law, Edward (Sally) Nuebel; sister-in-law Jean (Bob) Pederson; nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Bud retired from NSP following 37 years of employment and was a member of IBEW Union  No. 23.  After his retirement he worked at Whispering Pines in Forest Lake for 18 years.

Bud and Yvonne made their home in Wyoming for 20 years before moving to North Oaks.

In his free time, Bud enjoyed all forms of wildlife, and his collections of guns and knives.

A special thank you to all the family and friends who touched his life through the years.

A Celebration of His Life took place at 4 p.m., Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake.

The family greeted friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

 
Richard Glen Cary

Richard Glen Cary, 58, Forest Lake, died Sunday, April 18, 2010 at his home after a two-year battle with melanoma.

A memorial service was Wednesday, April 21 at Mattson Funeral Home, Forest Lake.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Diane (Clark); sons Matthew (Leah Bourgeois) and Anthony; one daughter, Erin; mother Mary; sisters Jean Gibson, LuCinda Anderson and Lisa Hovar; one brother, Casey; and many nieces, nephews and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his father, Glen and baby sister Maggie.

 
Douglas E. Johnson, Jr.

Douglas E. Johnson, Jr., 37, Stacy, died unexpectedly Friday, April 16, 2010.

A gathering of family and friends was Wednesday, April 21 at Roberts Family Funeral Home, Forest Lake. Interment will take place 11 a.m., Thursday, April 22 at Scandinavian Cemetery, Forest Lake.

He is survived by a daughter, Nicole; mother, Christine (Mark) Larsen; sisters, Julie (Corey) Johnson and Jolleen (David) Lyons; nephews and nieces, Eric Groshens, Hailee Groshens, Brooke Johnson and Forest Johnson; many aunts and uncles; step-grandparents, Ray and Renee Larsen.

He was preceded in death by his father, Douglas, Sr. and grandparents, Edward Johnson, Phyllis Johnson, Garman and Audrey Torp.

 
June Johnson

June Johnson, 77, Scandia, died Monday, April 19, 2010. She worked as a bank teller at Security State Bank of Marine for more than 40 years.

A celebration of her life will take place at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 24 at Elim Lutheran Church, 20971 Olinda Trail N. The family will greet friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, April 23 at Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, with visitation continuing one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment will be at Elim Lutheran Cemetery, Scandia.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert “Rabs” Johnson; children, Scott Johnson, Shelley (Mark) McShannon and Kent Johnson; grandchildren, Joelle Marier, Christine Marier, Daniel Johnson and Madyson Johnson; one sister, Laurel Johnson; many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elwood and Evelyn (Magnuson) Anderson; two brothers, Lloyd and Lester Anderson.

Memorials are preferred to Elim Lutheran Church or Gammelgarden Museum and may be sent in care of Mattson Funeral Home, 343 North Shore Drive, Forest Lake, MN 55025.

 
Donald J. Voelker

Donald J. Voelker, 83, Forest Lake, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010. He was a World War II veteran having served with the Army in the Pacific Theater in 1944 and 1945.

A celebration of his life was Saturday, April 17 at Mattson Funeral Home, Forest Lake. Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Norma (Wilder) Voelker; their children: Todd (Sue) Voelker, Jay (Kresti) Voelker, Patrick (Cindy) Voelker; grandchildren Kathryn, Andrew, Thomas, and Abigail; great-grandchildren: Benjamin and Maxwell; and one sister, Mary Veilleux.

He was preceded in death by his parents,  Joseph and Laura; and one sister, June Wollhaupter.
