A measure to restrict night-time driving privileges and the number of
teenagers in a car for new teen drivers is en route to becoming a
necessary law.
The Minnesota House and Senate have passed similar measures and Gov. Tim Pawlenty has said he will sign it.

The recent merger hoo-hah of Delta and Northwest Airlines is like watching a local TV station get gobbled up by one of the Hollywood network monsters. Suddenly there’s new programming, glitz, and whiz-bangs, but your favorite show just went off the air. This merger is more of an acquisition for Delta than an equal merger.
With Delta’s 446 planes to Northwest’s 356 vessels, 55,000 employees versus 30,000, and $19.2 billion in revenues to Northwest’s $12.5 billion, it’s pretty clear who the bigger company is.

The highly regulated long-term care center industry (once known as nursing homes) needs more state funding just to stay close to even in providing care to the ever-growing number of aging residents.

The veto of the Central Corridor Light Rail project by Gov. Tim Pawlenty is a setback for the metropolitan region, not just the city of St. Paul. Suburban community leaders long have believed that the health of the entire region depends on the economic life of the core cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul.
