An incident early Friday morning had officers with the Forest Lake Police Department pursuing an adult female that was attempting to elude and flee law enforcement.
According to Sgt. Ron Hanegraaf, an officer initiated the stop of a Chevy Blazer, which was headed north on Forest Road, with one headlight at around 1:56 a.m.
The vehicle failed to stop for the officer, instead speeding up with law enforcement in pursuit. However, Hanegraaf said the Chevy Blazer laid over into a ditch; no injuries were reported.
He noted the officer witnessed an adult female flee the vehicle on foot. The officer detained two other parties – a juvenile female and adult male – in the Chevy Blazer while law enforcement set up a perimeter in the area.
Hanegraaf said while taking the two individuals into custody, police received a call that a truck had been stolen from the driveway of the reporting party.
An officer spotted the truck in the vicinity of 4th St. SW and 11th Ave. The adult female discarded the vehicle and fled on foot yet again, he added.
She was arrested at approximately 4 a.m. upon the canine officer finding her hiding under a car in a parking lot at 407 11th Ave. SW.
Hanegraaf said that no charges have been filed at this time against the three individuals.
He noted the officers uncovered stolen property in the Chevy Blazer, which has been connected to a burglary in Hugo.
