As residents of Hugo continue to
recover from Sunday's devastating tornado, they are finding friends
from many directions, including their neighbors to the north in Forest
Lake. Students and staff in the Forest Lake Area School District are
planning a number of events to raise funds to help those in need. One
of the first efforts was Wednesday night's pops concert at Forest Lake
High School where all proceeds raised will be donated to the people of
Hugo. Principal Steve Massey said the high school goal is to raise
$10,000. Parents were there to help, too. Here, Wendy Pickar, Cheryl Monson and Carolyn Morstad, left to right, worked the serving line making root-beer
floats. The concert alone raised $4100 for the high school drive, Massey reported on Thursday. The public is also welcome to contribute to any of the school
drives. Donations can be dropped off at the higj school or mailed to Forest Lake High School,
6101 Scandia Trail N., Forest Lake, MN 55025. Checks should be made out to the Hugo Relief Fund.
