Misinformed Max
Max Anderson of Linwood is at it again, misinforming the good people who read his letters to the editor. I am Ted Phillips the one Mad Max has been writing about over the last couple of weeks, and since he wants to throw bricks at glass houses I felt it is time to set the record straight.
First and foremost he has accused me of not being a tax payer in the city of Wyoming. This is the part that puzzles me the most.
We built here in 1993 and when I ran for election in 2001, Mad Max helped support myself and another person who ran for election that year and I remember having many discussions with Max at his office across from the post office in Wyoming.
We discussed my family history and how we came to live here. So the question is why does he write such horrible things and why does he continue to make these accusations, when he knows my personal family history and knows that a lot of decisions went into how/why we built in the area.
If Max is going to take shots at me, he should look at who he currently supports a little closer. He is supporting Jeremy Kalin, our local state representative who only rents a home in the area. The information I have shows he lives with his wife in South Minneapolis, which tells me he only rents a home here to stay in office.
Makes you wonder how well Max checks people out before supporting them.
He likes to attack me on my support of Polaris Industries as a business in our great city, but he only tells half the truth about that deal. They did receive incentives to build here through the state but as anyone knows that lives in this day and age many cities would jump through bigger hoops to have a business partner like Polaris in their city.
After talking to many people and other business owners in the area it was not a hard choice to welcome them into our city.
He also likes to say Polaris does not pay their share. They are the ones that have allowed us to hook up to the new waste water treatment facility without having to use any money from the taxpayers.
This was done through the sale of the land. They are paying some taxes on the property as if it was not developed and will pay more once the state program is over in a few years.
Max also did not like the closure of the county road, but when these decisions were being made and notices were sent to people in the area no one had shown any concern until the last meeting.
By that time the final approval was about to happen and it was too late to go back and make changes to the whole project.
Last but not least, he questions the current council on their decision to bring myself on board to help with the EDA and in his mind it was a hastily made choice.
I don’t agree. With my background in sales and knowledge with the history of our city it makes for a great combination.
I already know many of the business owners in the area and have the drive to help our city and county grow so that all of our taxes some day can be affected in a positive way. Bringing companies like Polaris into our community will help achieve this.
My question is why are the letters from Mad Max so negative and mean spirited?
Why is it he never has anything nice to say about Wyoming?
Thanks for reading this and thank you to all who said it was finally time to say something and bring out the truths rather than all the misinformation that Max has put out there.
