Tickets are now on sale for a Saturday, Aug. 9 benefit dinner at Maranatha Church that will raise funds to help sponsor a church medical mission to Kiev, Ukraine. In September, the Wyoming church plans to send a seven-member delegation to Kiev where they will join a medical missionary with the Assemblies of God Church. From Sept. 13-25, the Maranatha delegation will work with Dr. Nancy Wespetal, a former Forest Lake physician. The group will assist the doctor and her team in bringing her medical trailer to Kherson, Ukraine. This outreach will provide much needed free medical services for the people of this area. The cost of a dinner ticket on Aug. 9 is $15. An Italian-style gourmet dinner, featuring a five-course meal, will be catered by Bountiful Blessings. The dinner will be served from 6-8:30 p.m. Maranatha Pastor Mike Haseltine will be the emcee for the evening. The evening will include music and a short DVD showing the outreach efforts of Dr. Wespetal. A silent auction is also planned as part of the church effort to raise $25,000. All proceeds raised on Aug. 9 will go to this mission outreach. Tickets should be purchased in advance. They are available at the church or by writing to Maranatha Church, 24799 Forest Blvd., Forest Lake, MN 55025. For ticket information, call the church at 651-464-3131 or visit the church web page: www.realchurch.org. Donations are also welcome from anyone unable to attend on Aug. 9. |
