Thursday, 04 September 2008

A 15-year-old Forest Lake girl riding a bicycle suffered possible leg fractures when she was struck by a car while attempting to cross I-35 on W. Broadway Ave. on Tuesday afternoon. According to Forest Lake Police Department reports, the youth was riding west on the south shoulder of W. Broadway when she was struck by a car.

The car that hit the youth was exiting northbound I-35 and turning right on a red light at Broadway to go east when the accident happened at 4:30 p.m., said Forest Lake Sgt. Greg Weiss. The youth was taken by ambulance to Fairview Lakes Medical Center, Wyoming, where she was treated for a possible leg fracture, Weiss said. The accident is being investigated by the Minnesota State Patrol for any possible driving charges.
