8188 swans.jpgA pair of trumpeter swans nested in Forest Lake on Wednesday morning. The beautiful birds could be spotted in a pond near the library on Headwaters Parkway. The rare trumpeter is the largest waterfowl native to North America. It is not an endangered or threatened species, but in the Midwest it is less common than the bald eagle.
