Wildlife center to have a howl Saturday PDF Print
Wednesday, 01 October 2008
Nothing says fall like the Wildlife Science Center’s Harvest Howl, set for this Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The annual celebration of autumn will focus on nature’s bounty with a host of presentations and vendors. Bears, reptiles birds of prey and a new litter of wolf puppies are among the live animals that will be on display.

The four pups born this spring came with their mother from British Columbia to take part in the center’s newest research project concerning non-lethal contraceptive development.

Other highlights of the Harvest Howl include Native American dancers and demonstrations of a wild rice harvest and blacksmithing. Children will have a blast with pumpkin painting contests, archery and many other games.

Local artists will display and sell their work, and vendors will offer fall refreshments.

Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for kids. The Wildlife Science Center is located on the grounds of the Carlos Avery Wildlife Management Area at 5463 West Broadway Ave. in Columbus.

Call 651-464-3993 for more information.
