The Republican first-term Senator is locked in a tough reelection bid against DFL candidate Al Franken and Independent Party candidate Dean Barkley. Coleman urged his supporters to do their duty at the ballot box on Tuesday and to remain positive. "This is your time," Coleman said. He said the country faces difficult times but solutions can be found. "When we get done with today we've got to go to work tomorrow as American," Coleman said. "We can fix this. We can do this." |

With chants of "six more years" coming for party faithfuls, U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman wrapped up his 36-hour campaign marathon with a stop in Forest Lake at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. Coleman and his wife Laurie were cheered by a crowd of about 100 party members who turned out at American Legion Post 225. "This is our last stop. We've been going since Sunday," Coleman said.
