Ruby the pit bull has been chosen one of the top 100 hounds in the country and is now competing for top dog honors. Ruby and owner Pat Bettendorf of Scandia were recently notified that Ruby was chosen one of the top 100 finalists in the Milk-Bone 100th Anniversary contest. Online voting at www.Milk-Bone.com will be open through 11:59:59 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 18. The winning dog will receive a grand prize of a $100,000 contract and serve as a spokesdog for Milk-Bone. Ruby is an adopted dog that is today a certified therapy dog that visits hospitals and nursing homes. He is pictured here with a special pal watching a parade on the Fourth of July.
