| School tax hearing next Tuesday will show tax cut |

ISD 831’s Truth in Taxation hearing next week is expected to show taxpayers in the district that school property taxes are going down in 2009. The tax hearing will take place at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 9 in the media center at Forest Lake High School, 6101 Scandia Trail N. Larry Martini, director of business services, said the administration is proposing a 2008 levy of $15.6 million for taxes collected in 2009. That is a reduction of about 4 percent from the 2007 levy of $16.3 million for taxes collected by the district in 2008. “People should be seeing lower taxes next year,” Martini said.
