9 Forest Lake businesses report vandalism PDF Print
Thursday, 08 January 2009

Nine Forest Lake businesses were the targets of vandals late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, Chief of Police Clark Quring reports. The chief said the businesses all reported window damage which was likely caused by a B-B gun. It is the second round of late night damage involving business properties during the past month, the chief said.

Targets of the most recent crime spree are: Dandy Auto Sales, 20 NW 5th Ave.; OSI, 146 N. Lake St.; Carter's Jewelry and Gifts, 85 N. Lake St.; Jelly Jar Cafe, 59 S. Lake St., the commercial office building leased to ISD 831, 467 W. Broadway Ave.; and Edward Jones, Up To Date Bookkeeping, Planet Beach and Lakewoods Chiropractic Clinic, all at 255 Highway 97 in the Schilling Plaza retail center.

Quiring said damage reports were still being collected on Thursday. Dandy Auto Sales reported $1500 in damage to a glass door on the north side of its building. Damage to the other eight businesses centered on broken or damaged windows that would likely need to be replaced, the chief said.

Anyone with information about the crimes is asked to call the Forest Lake Police Department at 651-464-5877.
