Pat Anderson, a former Forest Lake resident, announced on July 15 that she has officially entered the Minnesota governor’s race. Anderson, 43, a Republican, previously served as state auditor before being defeated by Rebecca Otto in a reelection bid in 2006. Anderson, who is also the past head of the state’s department of employee relations, is currently the president of the Minnesota Free Market Institute. A former resident of Eagan where she served as mayor, Anderson today lives in Dellwood with her husband, Doug Gallwas, and their four teenage children. In announcing her decision to run for governor, Anderson pledged an administration built on common sense and reform.
