The volunteer board of directors of Anoka Hennepin Credit Union has announced that its collaboration with Anoka County Federal Credit Union is complete. The merged credit union opened its doors on January 2, 2008, however, the official board approval came on January 15, 2008. As a merged organization, the credit union now offers seven locations for members to use in Anoka, Andover County Market, Champlin, Circle Pines, Coon Rapids, Forest Lake, and St. Francis County Market. An eighth additional stand-alone branch in St. Francis will open this spring. “While we continue with the Anoka Hennepin Credit Union name, we begin 2008 as one, new organization,” said Jeff Claussen, AHCU president and chief executive officer. “This merger is an opportunity to take a strong step forward for the benefit of our fields of membership.”
