Fairview clinics, including those in Wyoming, Hugo, Lino Lakes, Chisago City, North Branch, Rush City and Pine City, are experiencing delays in seasonal flu vaccine shipments due to the manufacturing and distribution of the H1N1 vaccine.
More seasonal flu vaccine is expected to arrive in November to provide additional immunizations to patients. Some H1N1 flu vaccine is expected to arrive sometime in late October. Because of these delays, seasonal flu vaccine is not currently available at Fairview clinic locations.
Also a walk-in flu shot clinic, scheduled for Fairview Lakes Medical Center, Wyoming, in late October through November and publicized in a recent Fairview Lakes community newsletter, has been postponed.
“Our community newsletter ‘Connections’ had already gone to print and into the mail process shortly before we knew that the November walk-in flu clinic would be postponed,” said Leilani Freeman, Fairview Lakes public relations and marketing.
“We apologize for the fact that the recently mailed newsletter incorrectly states that we have seasonal flu vaccine and that walk-in flu shots will be available at Wyoming during November,” says Freeman. “That information is no longer valid. For the latest flu vaccine information, call your clinic, or check online at www.fairview.org/flu.”
