For the traditional Swede, nothing says “Holidays in Minnesota” more clearly than the heavenly aroma of lutefisk wafting through the air. The Gammelgarden Museum is serving up a culinary delight sure to bring joy to every cod-loving Scandinavian taste bud in the North land. The annual lutefisk dinner will be served on Thursday, Nov. 19 at Elim Lutheran Church in Scandia at 11:30 a.m., and at 1, 2:30, 4 and 5:30 p.m. The cost is $15 per person. Advance tickets are available by calling the Scandia Butik at 651-433-5053 or e-mail gammelgardenlynne @frontiernet.net. A limited number of tickets are available for each seating at the door. There will be plenty of butter sauce, cream sauce, red cabbage, rye bread, brown beans, beet pickles, rutabagas, boiled potatoes and meatballs on the menu. Assorted bundt cakes and coffee will end your feasting experience. The Scandia Butik will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. with 15 percent off on all items. The Gammelgarden members 10 percent discount applies also. |
