Forest Lake City Council is expected to take action next Monday on an appointment to fill the term of Councilman Bo Bogotty’s seat that has been declared vacant. Bogotty suffered a serious stroke in September and is still recovering. The council on Jan. 31completed the last of 14 interviews of city residents who applied to fill the caretaker seat on council. City Administrator Chip Robinson said the council will meet in special session at 6 p.m. Monday to rate candidates based on the interviews and settle on a finalist for consideration during the 7 p.m. regular meeting. Bogotty was in the audience for the Jan. 28 council meeting but was able to stay for only about one hour. Robinson said Bogotty’s status for a return to duty remains uncertain and the council will proceed with selecting a person to fill the seat until he is able to return.
