Dan Johnson, a printer who has worked at Forest Lake Printing since 1962, has more than printer’s ink in his veins. The North Branch man was on hand Friday to donate blood at the American Red Cross North Central Blood Services blood drive at Fairview Lakes Medical Center in Wyoming. He is now one pint shy of earning his 16-gallon pin. Johnson, who retired from his full-time printing job in 2006, is ready to give blood here with some help from nurse Jennie Jorgenson, blood drive founder Donna Mathias of Fairview, back center, and Amy Kotish, right, ARC donor recruitment representative. Last Friday’s blood drive collected 78 pints of blood and helped kick off the 10th anniversary celebration of the Wyoming hospital.
