Bean Bag Tourney fundraiser for FL Sports Complex set PDF Print
Wednesday, 06 February 2008
You and a partner could be $250 richer, plus contribute to the Sports Complex, by entering a Bean Bag Tournament slated for Saturday, March 1, starting at 8:30 a.m. at Stars and Strikes Entertainment Center. The first place team will win $250 and second place $100.

Entrance fee for each two-person team is $40, with proceeds going toward the Sports Complex.

Each player is also asked to bring a food shelf donation, which will be distributed to Forest Lake Community Helping Hand and Wyoming Family Pathways.

The tournament is being hosted by the Ron Fraley Insurance Agency. This will be the second annual tournament, with the proceeds going to a charitable organization.

“We have so much fun at it, that we decided to expand the tournament this year and use it to benefit the community,” said Lori Fraley, a board member of the Forest Lake Area Athletic Association (FLAAA), which is building the Sports Complex and still needs to raise about $400,000 to fund construction.

Tournament registrations are due Monday, Feb. 25. There’s only room for 64 teams, so entrance is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Forms are available at ABBA Trophy, 631 S Lake St.; Stars and Strikes, 5063 2073rd St. in Wyoming; and on the FLAAA Web site at www.flaaa.org.
