Bertrand Hilding Strandlund, 90, Nisswa, MN, and Winter Haven, FL, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2009. He was a former postmaster in Stacy from 1961 to 1979 and served with the U.S. Army’s 34th Infantry (Red Bull) Division in Europe during World War II. A funeral service was Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2010 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Brunswick, with interment at Riverside Cemetery, Brunswick. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Harriet Strandlund; daughters Pamela (Earl) Torkkola, Hugo, Paula Jo (Alan) Lundberg, Prior Lake, and Sheila (Robert) Klym, Lakeville; one brother, Zonnie (Jean) Strandlund, Rice Lake, WI; one sister, Loretta Gotfredson, Cambridge; six grandchildren, Jackie Colter, Angie Colter, Becky Colter, Evan Lundborg, Jennifer Morrison and Lauren Morrison; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Algot and Beda (Lodin) Strandlund of Braham; and siblings Raymond, Rodney, Harriet, Ruby, Larry, Erling, Lyle and Roy. |
