Win or lose this Thursday, the girls hockey team finds itself in an interesting situation. Forest Lake’s regular season ended last Saturday with six straight losses (last week brought a 5-0 setback against Cretin-Derham Hall, which followed a 5-0 loss to Stillwater); almost a complete 180 degree difference from the seven consecutive wins the Rangers tore through to open the year. On Feb. 7, the girls begin section play at Proctor, which is the exact same program Forest Lake defeated 4-3 to begin this season. It’s also the team who ended the Rangers’ 2007 playoff hopes. Will this be the start of a run to the state tournament, or another seven-game streak that bookends the one from November?
