The Ranger Alpine ski teams played host to the Roseville Raiders on Thursday, Jan. 31 at Wild Mountain and came away victorious.
The Ranger girls won a close battle by a score of 29-26, led by Carly Bass’ first place finish. Other point earners were Nicky Kumerow in third; Ciara Robinson in sixth; and Mallory Messin, Connie Herman and Kara Gamelin filling in the final three spots.
The Forest Lake boys had little difficulty beating Roseville 42-13, with Brett Stolberg getting the win. The senior captain was followed by Shane Sampair, Scott Brunjes and Kevin Gamelin in the other top spots.
Additional point-earners for the Rangers were Tyler Brunjes, Paul Charpentier and Tyler Raarup.
A week before the defeat of Roseville, the Ranger squads also posted a double victory against White Bear Lake. The Forest Lake girls nearly shout out the Bears, but had to “settle” for a 54-1 win. The boys came out on top with a 37-18 score.
The meet against Woodbury and Park, originally scheduled for Jan. 29, was postponed until Thursday, Feb. 7, due to last week’s dangerously cold weather.
In conference standings, the Forest Lake boys are 5-1, with the girls sitting on a 4-2 record.
