Motorhome stolen in Anoka stripped, dumped in FL PDF Print
Monday, 03 March 2008
A motorhome stolen near Anoka over the weekend was found in Forest Lake on Sunday morning, abandoned on 240th St. N. with a number of interior components stripped, according to Forest Lake Police Department reports.

Chief of Police Clark Quiring said the 2008 Forest River motorhome was found by city officers at 7:07 a.m. on 240th St., just west of Falcon Ave. The area where the motorhome was dumped is an isolated part of Forest Lake on the border with Chisago County.

The vehicle, a Forest River Lexington model, was still running when police arrived, Quiring said.

Police in Forest Lake confirmed the unit had been taken from Shorewood RV, Anoka. The theft was later verified after contacts were made with the Ramsey Police Department, Quiring said.

The motorhome had been stripped of its television, sink, stove, refrigerator and a portable generator, the chief said. Police believe the motorhome's ignition was punched out and hot-wired by the thieves.

The theft at Shorewood RV likely happened late Saturday. Quiring said police in the city of Ramsey found a fence to the dealership had been cut. A number of additional motorhomes were entered and flat screen televisions were stolen, according to reports from Ramsey that were relayed to police in Forest Lake, Quiring said.

A loss estimate was not available on Monday. The motorhome was carried on a Ford F-450 frame.
