Cole to head Sun Newspapers group |

Robert Cole, Forest Lake, has been named vice president and group publisher of the Sun Newspapers chain in Eden Prairie. Cole, the marketing director for ECM Publishers, Inc., Coon Rapids, will leave ECM effective this Friday and join the American Community Newspapers group. As publisher of the Sun group, he will lead a team of 200 employees in Minnesota. Cole has spent 19 years with the ECM family of newspapers. He was hired by the Forest Lake Times (Sell Publishing Company) as marketing manager in 1987 and later joined the ECM corporate administrative team when ECM Publishers acquired Sell Publishing Company. While heading up ECM’s marketing department, he has also held interim management posts with the Morrison County-Record in Little Falls and the Elk River Star-News.
