Friday dinner will help Legion celebration

Fish will be on the menu Friday when some Forest Lake notables get pies tossed in their faces.
American Legion Post 225 will host its 4th of July Freedom Fish Fry Fund-raiser from 4-8 p.m. The dinner will also include a silent auction and the throwing event that was initiated at a January fund-raiser.
All proceeds will go to support the Legion’s 2008 Fourth of July celebration.Tickets for the fish dinner are $7 each.
The silent auction will include a wide list of top prizes, including three one-hour rides in an Air Force flight simulator. Bids on auction items will be taken from 4-7 p.m. The pie-throwing starts at 7 p.m..
Slated to pose for the cream pies in the face are: Mayor Stev Stegner, Councilwoman Susan Young, School Board President Bill Bresin, Forest Laker owner Pete Paidar, and other notables from the area.
Music for the evening will be by The Deuces Wild Band.
