Century Junior High School student Mikensie Johnson won big at the International Modeling and Talent Association (IMTA) in Los Angles, CA.
She was recently represented by Caryn International, which has received over 1500 local, national and international professional awards and modeling contracts including the prestigious IMTA Lifetime Achievement Award.
In January, Johnson won 1st Runner Up in Fashion Runway (modeling) and took home 4th Runner Up in Dancing- Junior (talent) and in Team Dance (talent). In addition, she won Honorable Mention for Theatrical Headshot (talent), T.V. Real People (talent), Sitcom (talent) and Jeans (modeling).
Her week in California consisted of days of competitions with hundreds of others at seminars, auditions, callbacks and awards night. For someone new in the business, the awards night is comparable to the Academy Awards.
Before going to L.A., Johnson was trained at Caryn International and was chosen to attend IMTA. IMTA is a modeling and talent event where over 400 major market agents, managers and casting directors come to find new faces.
During competitions, models and actors showcase their potential of industry professions who can get their career started. Some past winners include: Seann William Scott, Katie Holmes and Ashton Kutcher.
The 13-year old is daughter of Scott and Shelley Johnson, Forest Lake. Her interests include playing the violin, skiing, horseback riding, dancing, dreaming and reading. She loves people, any sports and being in front of the camera.
Johnson plans on signing a contract with Blain and Associates out of California. Also, she will continue her acting career by taking classes and getting jobs in the field and hopefully landing a main lead role in a movie.
