Police in the city of Forest Lake are advising home owners to be
wary of possible daytime burglars who they believe are working the
area. Police said they believe burglars are knocking on doors and if no
one is home, they are forcing open side and back doors to gain entry.
Chief of Police Clark Quiring said his officers are
investigating six residential burglaries between Feb. 28 and March 10
that have similarities.
The burglars have struck on North Shore
Trail, North Shore Circle, SW 4th Ave. July Ave. N., 202nd St. N. and
203rd Ct. N. In the 203rd Ct. N. burglary, a home under construction
was hit with $200 in copper and tools stolen.
Police encourage the public to report any suspicious behavior of
individuals going through neighborhoods knocking on doors. In such
cases, calls should be made to 651-464-5877.
In a non-related business burglary, McCullough Mini-Storage,
220335 Forest Blvd. N. on March 8 reported that nine storage units had
been targets of burglars. In many cases locks to the units were cut.
Police are awaiting a list of stolen items.
