The Washington County Department of Public Works has put spring load limit restrictions in place for county roads as of March 14. The spring road load limit restrictions will stay in effect for eight weeks. The purpose of the spring load limit restrictions is to protect the roads by limiting the weight of vehicles using the roads. This will reduce the adverse effects of damage to a road by a too heavy vehicle using a road during the period when the ground is thawing. County roads will be posted with signs indicating the spring load limit for a particular road. Any county road without a posted load limit has a five (5) ton axle limit restriction. Call the Washington County Department of Public Works at 651-430-4300 with questions on the restrictions. The county has provided information on the spring load limits on its website www.co.washington.mn.us or will post it as new information becomes available. The latest spring load limit information is also available on a recorded message by calling 651-430-8355.
