Taylor grabs endorsement in 17B |

 Don Taylor will be the standard bearer for the Republican Party in House District 17B. Taylor, the Chisago City mayor, won his party’s endorsement at the District 17 Convention Saturday in North Branch. On the fourth round of balloting, Taylor garnered 62 percent of the delegate vote to win the endorsement. He topped Wyoming Mayor Sheldon Anderson, Taylors Falls resident Warren Nelson and Lindstrom resident John Stignani for the endorsement. Anderson, who earlier hinted he may force a primary contest, said this week he will abide by the party decision. Anderson said he will consider a bid for a third two-year term as mayor. Barring an unforeseen primary contest, Taylor will now go on to challenge Rep. Jeremy Kalin, DFL-North Branch, this November.
