Hegberg, Peterson named to CTIB |

The Washington County Board of Commissioners appointed District 4 Commissioner Myra Peterson and District 1 Commissioner Dennis C. Hegberg to the Counties Transit Improvement Board. The CTIB is newly created joint powers organization which will administer the proceeds resulting from the 1⁄4 of one percent sales tax and excise tax recently enacted by Anoka, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey and Washington counties. District 5 Commissioner R. H. “Dick” Stafford was appointed to serve on the Grant Evaluation and Ranking System committee to review grant applications for funding. The new county sales tax is expected to generate some $5 million a year with the funds to be used for transit programs, including rail and bus programs.
