It’s a large, large world. The 2008 Festival of Cultures was an opportunity for community members to travel the globe without ever leaving Forest Lake.
Despite bad weather and the looming possibility of more to come, over 500 turned out for the third annual event held on Friday, April 11 at Forest Lake High School.
With a passport in hand, students, parents, children, staff and residents were transported to foreign lands.
There was certainly a lot to see as well as learn from like booths with activities and presenters in the cafeteria to entertainment on stage in the auditorium.
It was the second year Dave and Laura Livermore, both teachers at the high school, attended the Festival of Cultures. They also brought their two small children to the event.
“We try to expose them to different cultures,” Dave Livermore said.
The Festival of Cultures was put on by the Forest Lake Area Schools District with the help from various local businesses and partners
