People gather together at the Lakeside Park Gazebo in Forest Lake on May 1 for the 2008 National Day of Prayer. The event included area pastors each offering prayers for the community, families, schools, youth, clergy, media and government. Air Force Chaplain Rich Weber lead a prayer for the military. The Color Guard from American Legion Post 225 presented the colors. Veteran El Ewert sang "The Lord's Prayer" with the North Lakes Academy Choir leading those attending in the National Anthem and "God Bless America."
