Rangers hand Woodbury another loss PDF Print
Friday, 02 May 2008
chereehit.jpgFor the second time this spring, the Forest Lake softball team squared off against highly-ranked Woodbury, and for the second straight time the Rangers came away with the win.

The May 1 victory was earned by taking the lead in the fourth inning, and going up 3-0 late in the game, before Woodbury would answer with three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

The afternoon would stretch into the eighth, when Forest Lake piled on with four runs - thanks mostly to a three-run homer by Cheree Franklin (left) - to pull away for an eventual 8-4 win.

Franklin went 2-for-4 at the plate, with a double, the home run and three RBI.

"This was the most fun I've ever had coaching," Forest Lake head coach Angie Ryan shared. "We played an outstanding game against a great team. I was very impressed with our team today offensively, defensively, pitching and catching."
