Now that the regular season is taken care of, the Forest Lake synchronized swimming team turns its attention on sections (May 16-17).
The Rangers’ final meet of the spring was Thursday, May 1, against Osseo, where Forest Lake head coach Laura Davison watched her squad take first in every major category, in a 35-14 varsity win.
“Our routines performed very well. They couldn’t have placed better than they did,” she said.
That’s because Julianna Dahlager was the top solo artist; Aaya Anderson and McKinzie Chelberg had the best score in duets; Laura Oberg-Hauser, Heidi Merrier and Camille Gross took first in trios; and the extended team, Bollywood, was also in the number one position.
“Another great performance was made by the duet of Aayla Anderson and McKinzie Chelberg,” Davison said.
“Camille Gross, Laura Oberg-Hauser and Heidi Merrier had their best swim of the season so far for their trio.”
With two weeks off, Davison is excited to get her girls back in the pool, as a large group of Rangers can move on to the University of Minnesota’s Aquatic Center.
“As we finish out our regular season I am confident that we will do well at sections. I predict that we will send at least 16 routines to the state meet this year, and hopefully more,” Davison said.
