Wal-Mart employee hurt in chemical spill |

An employee of Wal-Mart in Forest Lake is being treated for second-degree burns at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis after being injured by a chemical spill on Wednesday afternoon. Police and medical personnel were called to the store at 3:26 p.m. after a 43-year-old female employee of the pharmacy department received burns when a bottle containing liquid phenolliqueifed spilled on her hands and face, Chief of Police Clark Quiring said. Quiring said the employee was cleaning when the liquid chemical fell from a shelf and spilled on her hands and face. Quiring said the woman was transported by ambulance to HCMC where she was treated with second-degree burns and blisters.
