Last month, two men who changed the world for millions died within one sunset of each other: Stan Lee, the superhero creator, and Minnesota’s Richard Proudfit, the champion of malnourished children.

One was well known because so much of his talent and imagination showed up in television cartoons and comic books from the 20th century, and even more so on the 21st century big screen.
