Chisago County Commissioner Ben Montzka of District 4 earned 98 percent of the vote Tuesday as he was running unopposed. There were 3,489 votes for the incumbent and 63 write-in votes.
Mayor Eric Peterson and council members Linda Yeager and Joe Zerwas were re-elected in the Nov. 6, 2012 election.
In a close race in State Representative District 32B, incumbent Bob Barrett (R-Lindstrom) leads DFL challenger Rick Olseen of Sunrise Township. With 12 of 14 precincts reporting, Barrett is ahead 9,214-8,916.
Republican Tom Hackbarth of Oak Grove cruised to victory Tuesday night in his race against Louise Woodberry in State House District 31B. Hackbarth pulled in 13,101 votes compared to 8,391 for Woodberry. Locally, the new District 31B includes Columbus and Linwood. Hackbarth, a former small business owner, is a strong supporter of racinos.
With three town board supervisor positions open, only one incumbent kept his seat in Linwood in the Nov. 6, 2012 election. Winners were Phil Osterhus, Carol Searing, and Edward Kramer. Town clerk Judith Hanna barely held her post.
