The Linwood Town Board on Jan. 14 approved the appointments of Eileen Reinke and Deb Parker as president and vice president, respectively, of the Senior Advisory Board. They fill vacancies due to the resignations of Kathy Hereau and Laura Hermann.
There is good news for Linwood Township and residents of local lakes. Supervisor Bob Millerbernd reported at the Dec. 10 Town Board meeting that the Department of Natural Resources has awarded a grant of $435,000 to the Sunrise River Water Management Organization.
At the Nov. 26 Linwood Town Board meeting, Supervisor Carol Searing, liaison to the Senior Advisory Board, presented that group’s recommended choice to fill the Senior Coordinator position.
Repeated attempts to have Sherco Development complete road work in the Lyons Den development in Linwood have failed. Based on inspections by engineer Craig Jochum and the opinion of attorney Mike Haag, Linwood Township will arrange to have the work completed and the costs charged to the developer.
In February, the Linwood Town Board authorized the Fire Department to purchase a heart defibrillator and a device that improves the effectiveness of CPR. Fire Chief Darryl Ballman was pleased to report at the Oct. 8 Town Board meeting that both pieces of equipment were used twice recently.
