The Forest Lake baseball team lost in the first round of double-elimination play to third-seeded Elk River on Thursday evening, 9-5. The Rangers, seeded sixth, move on to play Grand Rapids on Saturday in Andover. The start time is yet to be determined. Grand Rapids lost to second-seeded Chisago Lakes, 10-0, on Thursday night.

After closing their regular season last Thursday with a 4-3 win over Bloomington Jefferson at home, the sixth-seeded Rangers started Section 7AAA play on Monday afternoon. Forest Lake hosted the 11-seed, North Branch. The home team won, 7-1, to advance to double-elimination play.
