The most discussion at the Feb. 17 Wyoming City Council meeting came during the open forum. About 30 residents attended the meeting – many after attending a Planning Commission meeting – in response to a proposed cell tower in an open space near a residential area of the city.

The Wyoming City Council took steps last Tuesday to improve data backup systems for City Hall and the Public Safety Department. The City Council authorized the purchase of a server backup solution for long-term data storage.

Sgt. Scott Dexter is retiring from the Wyoming Police Department effective Friday. The department’s plan is to promote a part-time officer to a full-time position, promote a full-time officer to sergeant, and then fill vacancies for two part-time police officers.

This month the recipient of the Meadows on Fairview pancake breakfast fund-raiser was the Wyoming Police Department. Held Friday, Dec. 13, the breakfast raised $236.
