The voters of the Forest Lake Area School District approved a levy referendum Nov. 6, with a tally of 12,525 votes for and 10,963 against the per pupil increase. The approval means that the new operating levy will be at $1,286.67 per pupil, an increase of $825 per pupil from the current operating levy at nearly $462 per pupil. For homeowners, that means an annual property tax increase of $112.98 per $100,000 home valuation.

Forest Lake Area Schools Superintendent Steve Massey said it’s a “significant moment for the school district.”
