The Forest Lake Area School Board approved a change to its board meeting times to start earlier in an effort to accommodate community members. The first meeting of the month will now begin at 6 p.m. following a listening session that begins at 5 p.m.; the second meeting of the month will be held at 7 p.m. following committee meetings at 5 and 6 p.m. This represents a one-hour shift earlier. The change will begin at the Thursday, Jan. 4, 2024, board meeting.
Despite there being some hesitations about this shift, the entire board, with board chair Jeff Peterson absent, supported the change with some board members thinking the time could easily change back if the new time does not work.
