Every time there is another mass shooting or somebody unloads several rounds into a crowd in a public setting and innocent bystanders or children are killed, or cops and EMTs who are responding to an emergency are gunned down, as happened this past Sunday in Burnsville, I keep wondering what it’s going to take to finally stop this tidal wave of violence. Police and paramedics responding to situations where there is a threat of somebody wielding a weapon is a daily occurrence in the U.S.
There are so many of these shootings in our country that most of us can’t even keep up anymore. It’s not that we don’t care, it’s that they happen so quickly now that we don’t even have time to absorb what has taken place, why it happened or what can be done to prevent it. Â
